Bradenton, FL – March 5, 2025 – We Care Manatee is proud to announce the success of its Annual Care Connection Manatee Breakfast, held on January 28th at the Manatee Community Foundation. The event, attended by a diverse group of community members and partners, spotlighted the impactful services provided through the Care Connection Manatee program, which offers comprehensive medical care coordination and resources to low-income, uninsured residents of Manatee County.
During the breakfast, We Care Manatee’s Executive Director, Shannon Hoyt, shared the impressive strides made by Care Connection Manatee in improving the health and stability of local residents. Over the past year, the program has facilitated more than 700 services for uninsured individuals, with an outstanding 83% of those served successfully receiving necessary treatment and healthcare services. This success underscores Care Connection Manatee’s vital role in improving the well-being of the community, ensuring that individuals receive timely care before health issues become emergent, which keeps people employed and promotes overall public health.
“Care Connection Manatee is about more than just connecting to services – it’s about offering a bridge for those who are navigating the complexities of the healthcare system,” said Shannon Hoyt. “Our program offers a lifeline to those in need by connecting them with the resources and support they require to improve their lives and the lives of their families. We are proud of the progress made and excited for what lies ahead.”
The event also marked the announcement of new initiatives aimed at enhancing the program’s effectiveness. As part of its ongoing efforts to address the needs of uninsured individuals, Care Connection Manatee will host quarterly meetings for community partners. These meetings will serve as a platform for sharing resources and strategies to better serve the uninsured population of Manatee County. The first of these quarterly meetings is scheduled for April 8th, 2025, at 9:00 AM at the Manatee Community Foundation, with a virtual attendance option available.
“We are eager to continue working with our community partners to enhance the support network for uninsured residents,” said Hoyt. “By collaborating, we can ensure that more people have access to the healthcare and services they need to thrive.”
