Exciting Update: We Care Manatee Expands Services to Better Support Our Community
We are thrilled to share some fantastic news with our community! At We Care Manatee, our mission is to provide vital healthcare services to those in need, and thanks to recent legislative changes, we are now able to extend our support to an even broader group of individuals.
During the 2024 legislative session, a significant update was made to the Volunteer Health Care Provider Program through the passage of Chapter 2024-015, Laws of Florida. Signed into law by Governor Ron DeSantis on March 21, 2024, this new legislation brings an important change to eligibility criteria for low-income healthcare services.
Effective immediately, the new law amends section 766.1115 of the Florida Statutes, expanding the income threshold for those considered eligible for assistance. Previously set at 200 percent of the federal poverty level, the limit has now been increased to 300 percent. This means that more individuals and families who are struggling to make ends meet will now qualify for the critical healthcare services we provide.
What Does This Mean for You?
If your household income is at or below 300 percent of the federal poverty level, you may now be eligible for our services. This change reflects a significant step forward in ensuring that healthcare is accessible to a larger segment of our community, allowing us to reach more people who need support.
Our Commitment to You
We Care Manatee is dedicated to making a tangible difference in the lives of those who need it most. By expanding our eligibility criteria, we are not just increasing access to healthcare; we are reaffirming our commitment to supporting the well-being of all members of our community.
If you believe you might qualify under the new income guidelines or if you have any questions about how these changes may affect you, we encourage you to reach out to our office. Our team is here to help you navigate this update and ensure you receive the care and support you deserve.
How to Get Involved
Whether you are in need of services or interested in supporting our mission, there are many ways to get involved. From volunteering to donating, every effort helps us provide essential care to those who need it most.
Thank you for being a part of the We Care Manatee community. We look forward to continuing our work together to make healthcare accessible and equitable for everyone in our area. Stay tuned for more updates and ways to engage with our expanded services.
