

We Care Manatee was recently awarded a grant for $8,858 by The Community Foundation of Sarasota County’s Masala Giving Circle.
The grant will facilitate free breast health and wellness services for low-income, uninsured African American women in Manatee County, FL. ages 18 to 64.
Masala Giving Circle is a group of more than 50 civic-minded African American women in the local area. Through engaged and collective philanthropy, the group promotes economic and personal empowerment with financial support for programs and initiatives that benefit African American communities in Sarasota and Manatee counties.
Partnering with We Care Manatee on this community outreach initiative will be Black Nurse Rock Sarasota/Manatee; Florida Dept. of Health- Manatee; and Florida Breast & Cervical Cancer Program.
We Care also received a matching grant of up to $15,000 for the same community outreach program from Manatee Community Foundation’s, Manatee Matches, and hopes to raise the additional $6,142 to meet the matched opportunity.
